After an intense six months of non-stop handball action in
the top-tier league, Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) men and women’s National Leagues 2021 season reaches their climax this weekend with three scintillating matchups.
The exciting season that witnessed outstanding performances recorded, magical skills displayed, beautiful goals scored and, emotions rising beyond
prime intensity, will round on Sunday at Nyayo National Stadium, handball court.
The season started brightly on March 20, 2021, with four matches, of which, one was a women’s league fixture, will almost culminate similarly with three crunchy fixtures, two women ties, and one top-notch men’s encounter.
Black Mamba who happened to be among the six men’s league teams that threw on the season, when they hosted Thika Handball Club, and empathetically won the match 44-26, will again be in action to wrap up the season with a game against league nemesis Ulinzi Handball Club, in a match expected to draw a huge crowd, going by their recent rivalries.
The tie is the only fixture in the men’s roster while in the women’s schedule, all the four teams in the final round of this weekend’s action were not in action in the opening season’s fixtures, but are poised to round the season
nicely when they take on each other at Nyayo National Stadium as well.
Ulinzi Sharks who have so far mastered ten wins and only lost in two, sit second in the league with 20 points, will be the host team against National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) Women’s team, who are third on the
log with 18 points from nine victories and four defeats, as both
teams playing for pride.
This mouth-watering encounter is scheduled to throw on at noon before paving way for the other women’s fixture pitting Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology (JKUAT) and Amazon Women’s team from 1:30 pm, before the men’s match of the season between Mamba and Ulinzi serenading the Nyayo National Stadium handball court with the final match of the 2021 KHF National League season, from 3 pm.
